24 killed in a blast in Delhi
New Delhi: At least 24 people have been killed and 15 injured in a blast in a flower market at Mehrauli in South Delhi this afternoon. The blast occurred at around 2.15 pm resulting in a panic in the area. According to the eyewitness, two men came on motorcycle in the area and threw a polythene bag, reportedly explosives, on the road after which the blast occurred.
Police team, Fire brigade and ambulance has reached the spot to bring the situation under control. The injured have been rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Amid the claims of Delhi police to have almost solved the case of serial blasts in the city earlier this month, the blast today is a major jolt to the functioning of the state police and law and order situation in the Capital. At least 30people were killed and over 100 injured on September 13 in five serial blasts that rocked the Capital. On that fatal day, Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh, Barakhamba Road and Central Park in CP and M Block market in Greater Kailash I were targeted.
