Synopsis: Andriy Krystiyan, or A K for short, has come to England from the Ukraine. A K is a philosopher (at least that’s what he claims to be), a poet, and an authority on all aspects of life. At the same time, he is following his grand plan to become an international star. Global stardom is how A K describes the goal that he and his band Gogol Bordello are pursuing with their particular brand of boisterous gypsy punk. For the time being, however, he makes ends meet by performing role play in women’s clothing for straightmarried men. A K shares a flat with two young women named Juliette and Holly. Juliette dreams of being a kind of Florence Nightingale of the developing world. She is currently working behind the counter at the local drug store run by Sardeep, the Indian chemist. Holly is a trained ballerina. Her big dream is todance with the Royal Ballet. So far she hasn’t been able to earn a single penny with her dancing, and continues to ‘polish’ her skills as a pole dancer at Beechman’s Exotic Gentleman’s Club.

Synopsis: Explores the twisted symbiosis between two American brothers–one domineering and nihilistic, the other guileless and introspective–as they binge on drink, drugs, and women in an exotic land. A domineering mother dispatches her young, introverted son Oliver off to Thailand to do everything he can to lure his reckless, older brother back home to the U.S. to face pending fraud charges. Oliver finds the intoxication of Thailand hard to resist, especially when it has a face as alluring as Lek’s. As Oliver falls deeply in love for the first time, Jake slips deeper into despair, and the seams of their relationship begin to come undone. When the true extent of Jake’s decadence and self-destruction is revealed to Oliver, he is forced to decide whether he will save his brother’s life or his own.

What Just Happened? (2008)
October 16, 2008 by Anand Pandey
Synopsis: Middle-aged Hollywood producer Ben is already in over his head trying to balance the tug-of-war of having two ex-wives and two different families with his latest business venture–the boldly “visionary” movie “Fiercely” starring Sean Penn when everything that can go wrong goes completely screwy. “Fiercely” looks like an audience-offending flop which draws the ire of iron-gloved studio chief Lou, who forces him into tangling with the film’s rebellious and drug-addled director Jeremy. Meanwhile, he’s confused and bewitched by his ex Kelly who can’t make up her mind about him; shocked by his daughter Zoe, who seems to have grown up overnight; infuriated by his screenwriter friend Scott who’s trying to make a deal with him while making moves on his former wife; horrified by a hirsute Bruce Willis and flummoxed by Willis’ nebbishy agent Dick, who’s scared to death of his own clients. Somehow amidst all the madness, treachery, deceit, runaway egos, rampant commercialism, personal politics and atrocious behavior of America’s dream-making machinery, Ben has to find a way not just to make it to Cannes with a finished film, but to cope.

Jason Statham as DareDevil
October 16, 2008 by Anand Pandey
DareDevil was a mess. The first mistake of that film was casting Ben Affleck as the superhero DareDevil. From there it just went to hell in a hand bag. At Comic Con Jason Statham apparently tossed his hat in the ring to bring new life to the character and apparently Frank Miller is keen on it as well according to the La Times.
I am a big Jason Statham fan and frankly I think that despite the fact he has an english accent he could do the role. The only flaw really is that accent. The DareDevil is not english so explaining the accent might be tough. Statham can pull off the role because when you google his name the first result is ‘Bad Ass’. Ok no its not but hey it should be!
Max Payne

Max Payne is a maverick cop – a mythic anti-hero – determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murders of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.
Oscar® nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) stars as Max Payne, a man who has little regard for rules – and nothing to lose – as he investigates a series of mysterious murders that could be tied to the death of his wife and child. But there are massive forces, both real and beyond imagination, that are conspiring to keep the devastating truth hidden – and Max forever silenced.
Joining Wahlberg in MAX PAYNE are Mila Kunis as Mona Sax, a beautiful Russian mobster and assassin; Olga Kurylenko (who stars in the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace) as Natasha, Mona’s thrill-seeking younger sister; Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Internal Affairs Detective Jim Bravura; and Beau Bridges as Max’s mentor, B.B.
MAX PAYNE is directed by John Moore (The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines) from a screenplay by Beau Thorne, a recent graduate of the University of Texas film program. The film is produced by Julie Yorn (Bride Wars), Scott Faye and John Moore.
New Daredevil and Deadpool Movies In the Works?
October 16, 2008 by Anand Pandey
Today Variety ran an article about Fox’s woes at the box office and inside they mentioned a couple of projects that sound pretty intriguing. They mention the young X-Men project that has been mentioned before, Deadpool and even the possibility that they may even do another Daredevil film. All of these projects have really been rumor up to this point but to know they are really looking into these possibilities is fantastic.
I am the biggest fan of both Daredevil and Deadpool. I am one of the few who really enjoyed Daredevil however. It stuck to the story which I think most people didn’t like. They would rather see a huge deviation in the story like with Spider-Man or even the X-Men movie. That or they just can’t stand Ben Afleck whom I thought did a pretty good job in the flick myself.
My concern with the Deadpool movie is that they keep Ryan Reynolds pretty boy face in the movie for too long. I was not impressed at all from the footage of him in Wolverine at Comic Con. I was actually a little angered that they would take my favorite character of all time and completely change him up. We’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out.
