Edge of Darkness (2010)

2 GUNS (2009)

2 Guns Comic Book

Summary

Based on the graphic novel “2 Guns” from Boom! Studios, written by Steven Grant with art by Mat Santolouco. “2 Guns” follows a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each other and who steal mob money for the good guys. They realize later that the mob actually got them to steal $50 million from the CIA.The project is targeted to be a throwback to classic ’80s buddy cop movies in the vein of “Lethal Weapon” and “48 HRS.,” but with a modern spin

Another day, another comic book gets snatched up to be turned into a movie. So what else is new? Especially nowadays, when you don’t need a guy in ridiculously colored tights to do a comic book. You could do a buddy-cop action movie about undercover agents who team up to take on the mob. Which is the premise of former “Punisher” scribe Steven Grant’s “2 Guns” (artwork by Mat Santolouco) from Boom! Studios. The comic book originally ran as a 5-issue limited series, and Universal apparently thinks it could be the next “Tango and Cash” or maybe “Murtaugh and Riggs”, because they’ve snatched up movie rights to the comics.

Righteous Kill (2008)

Filed under Drama, Hollywood Movies, Mystery/Suspense

A serial murderer walks the streets of Manhattan, targeting violent felons who have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. All the victims are suspected criminals whose bodies are found accompanied by a four line poem justifying the killing. The killer’s mission is to do what the cops can’t do on their own–take the bad guys off the streets for good. When a notorious pimp becomes one of the killer’s victims, highly decorated detectives Turk and Rooster are called in to investigate. This case could easily be the biggest one in their 30 years on the force. With the unwitting help of a local drug dealer the detectives follow what few clues they have, but their search soon turns inward, eventually leading them full circle as they realize the killer may be one of their own.
